Gunner DENIS SHANNON IRONMONGER of 88 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery was demobilised on 16 June 1919.

On 6 November 1919 he died at the family home in Blackheath, and is buried in Greenwich cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at All Saints church, Blackheath.

Details:
He was 37 years old, the son of Frank (1849 - 1926) and Adele Ironmonger, of 13, Montpelier Row, Blackheath, where the family lived 1901 -1926. He was born in Addiscombe. Before enlisting in November 1915 he had worked as a clerk. His father was a member of Royal Blackheath Golf Club 1908 - 1918, being re-elected December 1918.
