Gunner 847 EDWIN HULKS of 4th London Howitzer brigade was killed in action on 4 July 1916. He was attested on 16 March 1914 at the age of 17 and was called up on 5 August 1914.

He is buried in Hebuterne Military Cemetery between Arras and Albert.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial to 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green.

Details:
At this time he attested he was working as a photographer for Merryweather & Sons and lived at 23 Lewisham High Street.
