Horn, David James

Dates: c 1897 - 1918

War Service: David James Horn served as a Bombardier with the Honourable Artillery Company Royal Horse Artillery and his service number was 624441. He died on 7th December 1918 of sickness at East Leeds War Hospital, he was 21 years old.

Location of Memorial: He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Details: David James Horn was born in Deptford to David James and Mary Horn. Census records show he had five brothers; Samuel John, Harry Stanley, Cyril Arthur, Horace Walter and Daniel, and three sisters; Winifred, Nellie and Murial Joyce. The family lived for several years at 138 Milton Court Road, New Cross.
