Gunner 35168 ALFRED EDWARD HOPPER of 96 Brigade Royal Field Artillery died on 13 January 1916, aged 29.

He is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the Dover war memorial and the memorial of the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society.

Details:
He was the son of Alfred and Lilian Hopper of Dover and husband of Lucy May Hopper of 85, Amersham Vale, New Cross. Before enlisting he had been employed by the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Company as a counterman.
