War Service:
Rifleman 2350 FREDERICK HUGH HITCHCOCK of the 18th Battalion the London Regiment (London Irish Rifles) died on 1 June 1915, aged 29.

He is buried in Woburn Abbey cemetery, Cuinchy, near Bethune. Woburn Abbey Cemetery was named from a house on the East side of it used as Battalion Headquarters and as a Dressing Station.

He is remembered on the memorial at Holy Trinity church, Sydenham.

Details:
He appears to have been born in Reigate in the summer of 1885. He was the son of James Henry and Mary L. Hitchcock, of "Harberton", 39, Silverdale, Sydenham.
He married Margaret Barlow of 9, Derby St., Prescot, Lancs in the autumn of 1914.
