Private 1st Class BERTIE SIDNEY HILLIER of 46 Squadron Royal Air Force died in Lewisham on 20 November 1918, aged 23. He had previously served with 14 Squadron Royal Naval Air Service.

He is buried in Brockley cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Location of Memorial:
He is also remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham and on the Lewisham Military Hospital WW1 War Memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham.

Details:
He was the son of Walter Albert and Fanny Hillier, of 61, Nynehead St., Woodpecker Rd., New Cross.
