Private S/8668 BASIL EDWARD HEWETT of 3rd battalion Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment) died on 20 September 1915 of the effects of the gas attack at Hill 60 in the Ypres Salient.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Ladywell cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those servicemen whose graves are not marked by a headstone.

Details:
He was the son of Edward E. and Mildred Hewett, of 61, Mill Road, Lewisham. He was born in Marylebone in the spring of 1890.
