ALFRED STANLEY HEINIG was born in Lewisham on 23 April 1898. He enlisted as a private in the Army Service Corps and was posted to 1 Motor Transport Depot at Grove Park. He died of pneumonia on 8 March 1917.

He is buried in Ladywell cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
His name is remembered on the war memorial at St Dunstan’s College and at St Hilda’s church in Brockley.

Details:
He was the son of Alfred and Emily Heinig of 78 Honor Oak Park,( the London and Provincial Bank, now The Old Bank restaurant) where his father was resident clerk. He was educated at Surrey Mount in Forest Hill and was a pupil at St Dunstan’s College from 1911-1912.
