He served as Sergeant 178820 with the Royal Air Force at No. 1 School of Navigation and Bomb Dropping at Andover. He died on 21 November 1918 aged 26.
He is buried at Walthamstow (Queens Road) cemetery.

He is remembered on the memorial at Catford police station.

Police Constable ROBERT THOMAS HASPINALL was born in Walthamstow in the spring of 1892. He served at Brockley and Camberwell. He was the son of William and Rose Haspinall, of 42 Cranfield Road, Brockley.
