War Service: George Robert Harris served as a Rifleman with the 1st/6th (City of London) Battalion (Rifles) London Regiment and his service number was 324558. He died on 30th November 1917 and is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louverval.

Location of Memorial: He is remembered on the St Pauls, Deptford WW1 War Memorial.

Details: George Robert Harris was born on 8th March 1894 and was baptised on 25th March 1894 at St Paul's Church, Deptford. His parents were John and Esther Jane Harris. His mother died in 1904, aged 51.

In 1911 he is recorded living at 3 Payne Street, Deptford with his father, John and his siblings, John, Ernest and Blanche.
