Private RICHARD WILLIAM CHARLES HARRILD of 23rd battalion Royal Fusiliers died on 17 February 1917, aged 20. The 23rd was one of two so called 'Sportsmen's' battalions (23 and 24 R Fusiliers) raised and paid for by Mrs Cunliffe Owen.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

He is remembered on the memorial at the church of St. Luke, Evelyn Street, Deptford.

Details:
He was the son of William and Elizabeth Harrild of 11, Evelyn Street, Deptford.
