War Service:
Lieutenant NOEL WILLIAM GROOM of the 9th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment died on 20 September 1917. His temporary commission appeared in the London Gazette of 1 August 1916.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Location of Memorial:
He is on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham. His brother Philip also appears on the memorial.

Details:
He was the son of John and Florence Groom.
