Private 14726 SYDNEY CECIL GRIFFITHS of 1/7th battalion, Lancashire Fusilers died of his wounds on 2 October 1916. At the time of his death he was attached to 125 Light Trench Mortar Battery.

He is buried in St Sever Cemetery, Rouen. Most of the men buried in this cemetery died in the numerous hospitals in the vicinity of Rouen.

He is remembered on the war memorial at St Hilda’s church, Brockley

He was born in Lewisham and lived in Brockley.
