Second Lieutenant DANIEL COTTLE GREEN of the 22nd Battalion London Regiment died on 25 February 1917. At the time of his death he was serving with the Machine Gun Corps.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Basra Memorial in Iraq. The Basra Memorial commemorates more than 40,500 members of the Commonwealth forces who died in the operations in Mesopotamia from the Autumn of 1914 to the end of August 1921 and whose graves are not known.

He is remembered on the memorial at St Bartholomew’s church, Sydenham.

Details:
According to the report of his death in The Times of 7 March 1917 he was the second son of Robert Cottle Green and A C Corelli Green of 20 Kinver Road, Sydenham.
His brother Robert died on 29 August 1917.
