Sergeant JOHN PHILIP GRANT of 14th battalion London Regiment (London Scottish) died of wounds on 3 November 1917. He joined the London Scottish in 1910 and was mobilised in August 1914.

He is buried in Grevillers British cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorials at Haberdashers' Aske’s school, New Cross and St Cyprian's church, Brockley. He is also remembered on the London Scottish war memorial at their headquarters in Horseferry Road, London SW1.

Details:
He was born in Clapham on 25 June 1890. He was the eldest son of John and Annie Grant of Dalrymple Road, Brockley. He was educated at Aske's school Hatcham and before mobilisation worked as a bank clerk. On 27 June 1914 he married Helen Constance Pett in Brockley.
