Going, Edward Bertram

Summer 1879 to 18 July 1916

War Service:
Private 5025 EDWARD BERTRAM GOING of 1st South African Infantry Regiment was killed in action on 18 July 1916 in the fighting for Delville Wood. He enlisted in 1915.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at All Saints church, Blackheath.

Details:
He was born in Cambridge in the summer of 1879. He was 37 years old, the son of Jane Going and the late Captain Going, RN. of 25 St Clements Rd, Bournemouth.
