Private 1540 GEORGE ANDREW GLEW of 28th Infantry Battalion, Australian Imperial Force died in Lewisham Military Hospital on 19 November 1917 of gunshot wounds to his right thigh. He had previously been wounded in the left thigh in France in August 1916.
He is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery on 24 November 1917.

He is remembered on the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and on the memorial at Lewisham Military Hospital memorial outside University Hospital Lewisham.
Details:
He was the son of John and Laura Eliza Glew of 224, Havelock, West Perth, Western Australia. When he enlisted on 29 April 1915 he gave his occupation as sawyer.
