Private 39430 CHARLES HENRY FOREMAN of 2nd battalion Bedfordshire Regiment was killed on 6 August 1918. He is buried in Beacon Cemetery, Sailly-Laurette. The battalion came under attack on the night of 6 August while being relieved by 8/Londons. The attack was beaten off but the Bedfords’ casualties amounted to 8 officers and 163 other ranks.

He is remembered on the war memorial at St Hilda’s church, Brockley

Details:
He was born in Camberwell and lived in Crofton Park. His brother Robert died in October 1918.
