Rifleman S/17988 LEONARD JAMES FARR of 8th battalion Rifle Brigade was killed in action on 3 October 1916, aged 21.

He is buried in Le Fermont Military Cemetery, Riviere.

Location of Memorial:
He was remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham and St Michael Knoyle Road.

Details:
He was the son of W. E. Farr, of 97, Woodpecker Road, New Cross. Before the war he had been a butcher.
