Flight Sergeant (Air Gunner) JOHN KENNETH ETHERIDGE Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died on 8 March 1945 while serving with 283 Squadron.
At this time the squadron was based at RAF Hal Far, Malta flying Vickers Warwicks in the anti-submarine and air sea rescue role with one detachment based in Libya. He was 20.

He is buried in Dely Ibrahim War Cemetery in Algeria.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the Roll of Honour at the church of St John the Baptist, Southend.

Details:
He was the son of Douglas and Florence Etheridge of Catford.
