Drummer 1776 ALEXANDER JULES ETHERIDGE of 1/20th battalion London Regiment was killed in action on 26 May 1915, aged 21. He first went to France on 9 March 1915.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Le Touret memorial

He is remembered on the memorials at the Church of St James, Hatcham and St Michael Knoyle Road and also on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.

He was the son of Eldred and Emily Etheridge, of 158, Milton Court Road, New Cross.
