Able Seaman C/J 44538 WILLIAM ELEMS died on 27 June 1940. Prior to his death he had been serving on the cruiser HMS Ajax.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried in Hither Green cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.
