Private 8852 FREDERICK THOMAS DUCK of 1st battalion Bedfordshire Regiment died of wounds on 3 August 1916, aged 26. His death is noted in the battalion war diary for 3 August.

He is buried in St Sever cemetery, Rouen. By the end of the war there were more than 15 military hospitals in the vicinity of Rouen and most of those who died in them were buried in St Sever cemetery.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at the church of St James, Hatcham,where he had been baptised on 2 March 1890.

Details:
He was the son of Harry Duck, a leather dresser, and his wife Jane Sarah, of 40, Railway Grove, New Cross.
