Dore, Charles Albert

War Service:
Sergeant M2/097997 CHARLES ALBERT DORE of Royal Army Service Corps MT section died on 25 November 1918.

He is buried in Dar es Salaam war cemetery, Tanzania. Dar es Salaam war cemetery was created in 1968 when the 660 First World War graves at Dar es Salaam (Ocean Road) Cemetery had to be moved to facilitate the construction of a new road. During the early 1970s, a further 1,000 graves were brought into this site from cemeteries all over Tanzania, where maintenance could no longer be assured.

He is remembered on the memorial at St Augustine’s Church, Grove Park.

Details:
He was 22 years old, the son of Albert and Catherine Dore, of 8, Hanover Terrace, Weymouth.
