Second Lieutenant HERBERT GRAHAM DONALDSON Royal Flying Corps died on 16 February 1918 in Cambridge from burns sustained in an air crash at Tydd St Mary, Lincolnshire on 12 February. He had previously served with 20th (Blackheath and Woolwich) battalion, London Regiment. The aircraft in which he was Observer, an F E2 of 51 Squadron piloted by 2nd Lieutenant A G Taylor, suffered engine failure and overturned on landing. The pilot was slightly injured.

He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorials at the Bellingham Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club, St Andrews Church, Sandhurst Road, Catford. and also on the 20th London Regiment Roll of Honour.
