Gunner ROLAND (possibly Rowland) THOMAS DAVIES Royal Field Artillery died of wounds on 30 May 1918 while serving with Xth Corps Heavy Trench Mortar Battery. He was 20.

He is buried in Esquelbecq Military Cemetery.

Location of Memorial:

He is remembered on the war memorial at St John’s Church, Lewisham Way and on the memorial to 91 and 139 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery in St Swithun’s church, Hither Green.

Details:
He was the son of Harry and Harriett Davies, of 19, Willson's Rd., Ramsgate, Kent. He was born in Greenwich in the spring of 1898.
