Flight Lieutenant (Air Gunner) RONALD BASIL DANIEL Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died on 1 July 1944 while serving with 101 squadron. His was one of three 101 squadron Lancasters lost during this operation to bomb railway yards to prevent reinforcements getting to the Normandy battlefield. Flight Lieutenant Daniel was the squadron Gunnery Leader.

He is buried in St Doulchard Communal Cemetery, near Bourges.

He is remembered in the Brockley County School Book of Remembrance.
The 101 Squadron Roll of Honour is held in Ludford parish church in Lincolnshire.
