Lance Sergeant FRANK SHAW CUSS, DCM 2333, 6th Bn., London Regiment (City of London Rifles) who died on 30 April 1916.
He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.

Gazette 11 March 1916.
For conspicuous gallantry in leading the bombing party up to the enemy line trench, clearing all the dugouts. Having completed this, he again led the attack to the enemy communication trench.

He is remembered with honour at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez.

He is also remembered on the Sydenham Wesley Hall Memorial and may also be the F.S Cuss remembered on the Goldsmiths College Memorial

Frank lived in Sydenham.
