Private 505198 George Reginald Farr Cropley died of wounds aged 24 on 15 October 1918 while serving with 13th Battalion of the London Regiment. At the time, he was posted to 18th Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps. He previously served with 5th Battalion (London Rifle Brigade) London Regiment.

His grave lies in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery where he is remembered.

He was the son of Samuel Farr Cropley and Jane Elizabeth Cropley of 215 Ardgowan Road, Catford.
