Flight Sergeant (Air Bomber) CHARLES CROOKES Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve died on 14 April 1945 while serving with 186 Squadron. He was 29.
He was killed in a mid air collision between two Lancasters over RAF Stradishall in Suffolk as the aircraft returned from a raid on Kiel.
He is buried in Hither Green cemetery.

He was the son of Charles and Louisa Crookes and husband of Daisy Crookes, of Orpington.
