Major VICTOR WILSON COLE of the 2/5th battalion Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey) died on 13 April 1945,aged 31.

He is buried in Argenta Gap War Cemetery, Italy.

The Argenta Gap was a well defended strip of land between Lake Comaccio and the coastal marshes near Ferrara in Lombardy which blocked the Allied advance into north-eastern Italy. The 2/5 Queens , as part of the 56th (London) Division, took part in the assault which began on 12 April.

Details:
He was the son of Charles and Katherine Cole of Croydon and husband of Rita Llilian Cole of West Croydon.
