Gunner 930068 LEONARD COLE of ‘A’ Battery, 307 Brigade Royal Field Artillery died on 23 October 1918, aged 26.

He is buried in Awoingt British Cemetery near Cambrai.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial at St Mildred’s church, Lee.

Details:
He was the son of Edmund and Sarah Cole of 31, Butterfield St., Baring Road, Lee. His brother Henry died on 24 April 1915 while serving with The Buffs. Before enlisting he had been employed by the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Company as a labourer.
