Private 510402 ASHLEY BASIL COLSON COGGIN of 2/14th battalion London Regiment (London Scottish) died of wounds on 20 November 1917. He first went to France on 19 March 1915. The battalion arrived in Egypt in July 1917. Port Said, at the northern outlet of the Suez Canal, was an important hospital centre. In 1915 it received wounded from Gallipoli and later from operations in Egypt and Palestine.

He is buried in Port Said War Memorial Cemetery in Egypt.

He was the son of Thomas and Catherine Coggin, of "North View," Chadwick Rd., Peckham.
