War Service:
Private G/21595 SIDNEY COE of 9th battalion East Surrey Regiment died of wounds on 16 August 1917.

He is buried in Wimereux communal cemetery, near Boulogne. The area around Boulogne held a number of hospitals and it is likely that Sidney Coe died in one of them.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial of the Sydenham, Forest Hill & District Tradesmen’s Benefit Society.

Details:
He was the son of George and Sarah Coe of Herne Hill. In the summer of 1904 he married Ada Dudman. They lived at 39, Commerce Place, Dulwich Village.
