Trooper 7915744 HENRY JOHN CLAYTON of 3rd Royal Tank Regiment died on 27 May 1942, aged 30.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial in Egypt

He is remembered on the memorial at Holy Trinity church, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Henry James Clayton and Ellen Emily Clayton, of Sydenham.

Note: A war memorial was proposed by The Forest Hill and Sydenham Rovers (Scouts) and a Harry Clayton was proposed (note dated 7.11.1948 signed by Ron Rushbrook, District Rover Scout Leader).
