Rifleman Charles Henry Church Service No:573410 of the 17th Bn London Regiment (Poplar and Stepney Rifles) . He enlisted at Woolwich and was killed in Action 24 May 1917 in France and Flanders.

Location of Memorial:
He is buried at Bedford House Cemetery Grave Reference: Enclosure No.4 I. I. 63 and he is remembered on the Lewisham Council Staff First World War Memorial

Details:
He was the son of Stephen and Rose Church and the husband of Maud (Nee May) Church (they were married in 1910). He was born in 1888 in Catford and lived in Sydenham. In 1911 he was a labourer living at 46 Silvermere Road, Catford with Maud and daughter Gladys (born 1910). in 1912 they had a further daughter Ivy L M Church.
