William Henry Childs was a Private [service number G/10774] in the 11th Bn Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). He died 15 September 1916 aged 28.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme [Pier and Face 11 C].

Location of Memorial:
He is commemorated on the South Suburban Gas Works War Memorial at Bell Green, Sydenham.

Details:
He was the son of Mrs. Eliza Childs, of 54, Holmshaw Road, Lower Sydenham.
