Sergeant (Pilot Under Training) HARRY IAN CHILD, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, died on 12 May 1940.

He is buried in the churchyard of St Mary Black Bourton in Oxfordshire. The wartime burials here are from nearby RAF Brize Norton. Brize Norton was home to No 2 Service Flying Training School which suggests that he may have died in a flying accident.

He is remembered on the Sydenham South Suburban Gas Works war memorial.
