Lance Corporal 20219 WILLIAM FRANCIS CHESTERTON of 7th battalion Suffolk Regiment was killed in action on 3 July 1916, aged 37.

He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at Christ Church, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was the husband of Elizabeth Chesterton, of 35E, London Rd., Forest Hill. They were married in the autumn of 1906.
