Rifleman B/1627 STANLEY ALFRED CHERRINGTON of 1st battalion Rifle Brigade died of his wounds in No. 19 Casualty Clearing Station on 11 January 1918.

He is buried in Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered in the Book of Remembrance at St Saviour’s Church, Forest Hill.

Details:
He was born in Birmingham. He married Mabel Higgs in Lewisham in the summer of 1917. They lived in Treviss Road, Forest Hill. Before enlisting in August 1914 he worked as a shop assistant.
