Chapman, Charles Dudley

Second Lieutenant CHARLES DUDLEY CHAPMAN Royal Flying Corps was accidentally killed at Ringwood in Hampshire on 19 January 1918. He enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps in January 1915 and was commissioned into the RFC in July 1917. At the time of his death he was serving with 23 Squadron.

He is buried in Brockley cemetery, where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the war memorial in the church of St Mary the Virgin, Lewisham.

Details:
He was 24 years old, the son of Charles and Margaret Chapman of Bargery Road, Catford. He was educated at John Roan school in Greenwich.
