Captain HAROLD EDWIN CHANDLER-HONNOR of 1/5th battalion Essex Regiment was killed in action on 26 December 1943, aged 24.

He is buried in the Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial to choristers and servers at the church of St John the Baptist, Southend, Catford he is probably also remembered on the St Dunstan’s College WW2 Memorial.

Details:
He was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Chandler-Honnor of Catford. He attended St Dunstan’s College in Catford and represented the school at lacrosse.
His brother Frank died on 25 May 1946 while serving with the Royal Engineers.
