War Service: Lance Corporal S/16051 JOHN ARTHUR CHAMPION of 8th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders died on 22 August 1917, aged 37.
He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Details: He was born in Westminster, the son of William and Mary Champion of 6 College Place, Westminster. Prior to enlisting he was a clerk in the civil service.
He married Georgina Hardingham in the spring of 1905. They lived at 41 Rowland Grove, Sydenham.
