Gnr Thomas Edward or Edward Thomas Callaway or Calloway Service number 156661 of the Royal Field Artillery. He died in the UK [Woolwich Registration District] 24 September 1919 aged 40.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered locally on the War Memorial at All Saints Church, Blackheath.

It is believed that this is the same person, but his full service record does not exist but his registered age at death is correct to be the following person:
He was born about 1879 in Highgate, London, son of John (born 1852 Boscastle, Cornwall and Sgt in the Metropolitan Police) and Mary (born 1852 in Pembroke). In 1891 the family was living in a Police House in Lambeth. Thomas married Cicely Hobgen in the December Quarter of 1902 in the Wandsworth Registration District. They had a son Cyril born about 1906 in Lee. By 1911 they were living in 24 Tranquil Vale, Blackheath, where Cicely was still living in 1920. On the 1918 Electoral List he is shown as Edward Thomas and being in the Military.
