Private John Cyril Caley Service Number 3628 of the 2nd (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers) London Regiment. He enlisted at Westminster and lived in Lewisham. He was Killed in action 1 July 1916 at France and Flanders.

Location of Memorial:
He was buried in Gommecourt British Cemetery, NO.2, Hebuterne, Plot number III. D. 24. He is remembered locally on the All Saints Church War Memorial, Blackheath.

Details:
He was born in 1898 in Durham South Sheilds. He was the son of William Caley (a house painter) and Nellie Frances living at 34 Wemyss Road, Blackheath in 1911, John was 13 and at school.
