Private W/135573 MARY DOROTHY EDITH BUNCE of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) died on 16 March 1943, aged 19. At the time of her death she was serving with 464 battery, 167 (M) Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. In this context (M) stands for ‘Mixed’ , ie the battery included both male and female personnel.

Location of Memorial:
She is buried in Hither Green cemetery where her name is recorded on the Screen Wall listing those whose graves have no headstone.

She was the daughter of George Leonard and Bertha Mary Bunce, of Catford.
