Aircraftman 1st Class DAVID BERNARD BRITTAIN died on 18 October 1941, aged 28. At the time of his death he was serving with 768 Squadron Fleet Air Arm. This squadron trained naval pilots how to land on the deck of an aircraft carrier.

Location of Memorial:

He is buried in Hither Green cemetery where his name is recorded on the screen wall listing those whose graves have no headstone. He is also remembered on the war memorial at the Royal Mail London South East District Office, Mandela Way, SE1.

Details:
He was the son of Mary Ann Brittain and husband of Nellie Brittain. They married in the spring of 1940.
