Sapper 256892 FREDERICK JAMES BRISTOW of 21st Light Railway Train Crew Company, Royal Engineers died of wounds on 21 October 1917.

He is buried in Reninghelst New Military Cemetery, near Poperinge in Belgium.

Location of Memorial:
He is remembered on the roll of honour of St Mark’s church, Clarendon Rise The church tower was destroyed during WW2 and the rest of the building demolished in 1980 and the roll is now displayed in St Stephen’s church.

Details:
He was 28 years old, the son of Thomas and Caroline Bristow and husband of Katherine Bristow, of 92, Brookmill Rd., Deptford. They married on 25 April 1915 at St John’s church, Deptford.
