War Service:
L/Corporal Harry Brain served with the British Expeditionary Force in the 7th Battalion of the Royal Sessex Regiment. He was Killed in Action on 7 July 1916 aged 17 years.

He was buried at Serre Road Cemetery no. 2 Plot XV.B.5.

Memorial:
He is remembered on the memorial at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lee, just above his father Harry Sidney Brain. He is also remembered on the memorials at St Margaret's, Lee and Northbrook School, Hedgley Street, Lee.

Details: He was the eldest child of Harry Sidney and Florence Sarah Brain of 18 Dacre Houses, Dacre Park, Lee.
