War Service:
Sergeant THOMAS FREDERICK BORSBERRY of 2/9th battalion the London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) was killed by shellfire on 6 March 1917. He joined the QVRs in January 1914 and after being promoted to lance corporal on the outbreak of war, spent the next three months drilling recruits in Hyde Park.

He is buried in Gommecourt Wood New Cemetery, Foncquevillers.

He is remembered on the memorial at St. Luke’s church, Evelyn Street, Deptford.

Details:
He was born on 24 November 1892, the eldest son of Albert and Annie Borsberry, of 4, Luton Place, Greenwich. He was educated at Clyde Street School, Deptford.
